Glen-L Witt designed dozens of very successful boats for the home boat builders around the world. You could find his plans in the magazines like Popular Mechanics, Mechanix Illustrated, etc. throughout the 1950's, 60's and on. It made boating affordable for just about anyone who had any reasonable boat building skills and tools. Well these plans are still available and are as popular as ever. This little gem was a retirement project for the former owner who went on to build a bigger Glen L design.

The current owner was a friend and agreed to buy this boat so he could undertake the bigger boat but he really has more interest in kayaking so he would like it to to go to someone who can appreciate the skill that went into the building of this boat. You really have to see it in person to appreciate the build detail - we have seen several of this design and this guy went over and above the plans instructions without question!! Fully glassed over - this boat has the typical plywood hull design called for in the plans but he went the extra step to actually use solid mahogany 1/4" planks on the hull sides and deck which he epoxied over top of the thin plywood inner core!! Have not seen another one done like this. However when he glassed the deck he appears to not have properly sealed it trapping air underneath which is now making it way to the top. The deck will need to be stripped and re-glassed or even just varnished. Would make a great winter project for someone.

Boat for sale without engine. We can also source a vintage  or modern engine for it as well.
