Ventnor
1950 20' VENTNOR SPORT RUNABOUT
Ventnor boats were based out of Ventnor, New Jersey (hence the name) and was the brain child of Adolph Apel. He was famous for making fast boats, that dominated the racing circuits and captured numerous world speed records. In 1936 he developed and patented the 3-point suspension hull that is still used today in modern Unlimited Hydroplanes.
In 1948 Ventnor turned from racing boats to pleasure craft and released the sport runabout model seen below. Once again ahead of his time, he created a futuristic finned runabout that predates the iconic Chris-Craft Cobra by 7 years. This 20' Ventnor Sport Runabout is titled as a 1952, but we believe it was made in late 1950 as the model was discontinued for 1951. It's a wonderful example and a rare opportunity to own a rare boat.
